1.     Remember not to leave gifts visible in your vehicle, secure they in your trunk and out of plain sight.

2.     Be aware of your surroundings.

3.     Be aware of suspicious people approaching you for any reason. Criminals use different methods of distraction.

4.     Take precautions while using ATM machines. Only use ATM’s located in highly populated or well-lit areas.

5.     Avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

6.     Park in well-lit populated areas.

7.     Do not leave your purse, wallet or cellphones unattended for any amount of time.

8.     Be extra cautious of leaving your purse in a shopping cart while you shop. Hold your purse close to your body.

9.     Check your purse or wallet if someone is jostling, crowding or pushing you.

10.  Have your keys in your hand before you exit the store.

11.  Do not have both your arms full of packages, keep one arm free.
