On July 26, there will be a “Bayside High” performance at Veteran’s Park in Chino Hills. This performance will feature the Bayside High School 90s Tribute band and will be free to everyone.

The City of Chino Hills has recently launched a new app for all their residents and visitors. It is available for download on both the App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play Marketplace for Android users.

On July 18, 2017, Chino Hills will be having a grand opening for the new Pinehurst Park at 5800 Park Drive. Located off Butterfield Ranch Road between Pine Avenue and Soquel Canyon Pkwy behind the Avalon Bay apartment complex, Pinehurst Park will include an array of new amenities.

The City of Chino Hills offers a variety of locations within the community to escape from the scorching summer weather. Movie theaters, shopping centers and restaurants to name a few, provide spaces for Chino Hills residents to cool down. There are also government facilities open to the public during regular business hours, at the hottest periods of the day, including James S. Thalman Chino Hills Branch Library and the Chino Hills Community Center.

The City of Chino Hills will host “Movies in the Park” on Thursdays throughout the months of July and August. Movies in the Park is an annual family event that runs for six weeks at the Chino Hills Community Center, 14250 Peyton Drive. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the free movie event with your families available on Thursdays starting from July 6 until August 10. Show times will begin approximately at 7:45p.m. or dusk. Snacks will be available for purchase and all proceeds will benefit the Chino Hills Volunteer program.

To celebrate 25 years of Storytelling, Chino Hills, CA community encourages its residents to capture and share the images that, “make you proud of Chino Hills.” The City of Chino Hills is partnered with the LA County Fair and is hosting this contest for the first time ever. The three categories include: Outdoors, Community Life, and Historical. The outdoor category includes pictures of open spaces, parks, scenery and wildlife. The community life category includes pictures of people, events, activities, business, service and everyday life. The historical category includes photos of significant events, people places, landmarks and grand openings.

The Chino Hills, CA city-wide Home Improvement Grant Program provides eligible homeowners with grants to help revitalize their homes.

On January 28, join the city of Chino Hills Mayor, Ray Marquez for “Coffee and Conversation,” an opportunity to share ideas, express concerns and provide input on any topic that is important to you.

On January 21, the City of Chino Hills will be hosting a “Healthy Hills Wellness Fair” to resolve focus on the community’s overall health. “Promoting wellness in Chino Hills through programs, partnerships, resources, and more!”

The California Association of Realtors (C.A.R.) President Geoff McIntosh, in response to the Federal Housing Finance Agency’s (FHFA) announcement to increase the 2017 conforming loan limits for mortgages acquired by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac said, “C.A.R. applauds FHFA Director Mel Watt for raising the existing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac conforming loan limits, which will provide stability and certainty to the housing market and give tens of thousands of California homebuyers a chance at homeownership, the FHFA recognizes that home prices have recovered, not just in California but also across the nation. Many higher-priced areas of the state will benefit greatly from the higher limit.”

During this holiday season, walking by festive homes lit up with Christmas lights and inflatable snowmen may inspire you to put up lights on your own Chino Hills home. However, knowing what type of lights to buy and the amount that this may add to your electricity bill could help you out during this holiday season. 

Ongoing until November 18th, the Chino Hills Police Department is collecting food donations for a Thanksgiving Holiday Food Drive. Chino Hills residents may drop off any non-perishable food items.

The hours that the Police department allows donations are Monday-Friday, anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in the main lobby of 14077 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills.

On October 24, the SCE Project on Peyton Drive began their installation of underground conduits along Peyton Drive, digging of a trench within the existing bike lane, and restoration of the pavement. This project will continue up until November 18th, effecting the Chino Hills home residents.

Chino Hills will be hosting their 25th Anniversary “Laser Light Show” on Saturday, December 3, 2016.

Homeowners in Chino Hills look forward to the annual tree lighting show, accompanied with crafts, caroling, giveaways, refreshments and a historical banner display. This event is great for children and adults.
